FELLOWSHIPS
Fellowships are an increasingly popular way to gain specific experience and conduct research in intensive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and patient management. HRUK has a list of contacts with EP fellowships posts

International Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowships
Cardiac electrophysiology fellowships are an essential component of training in order to gain expertise in this subspecialty. The American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association in collaboration with the Heart Rhythm Society recommend that in addition to time spent in general cardiology a minimum of 1 year of specialized training in cardiac electrophysiology is needed to acquire the cognitive and technical skills required to be considered an expert in this field.
(http://circ.ahajournals.org/cgi/reprint/CIRCULATIONAHA.106.178893) It is generally felt however that to achieve proficiency in more complex procedures that 2 years of training be performed.
Below is a list of world renowned international centres which provide expert training in clinical cardiac electrophysiology. The program directors for each of these centres have been individually contacted and are very happy to discuss fellowship training in each centre for UK trainees. Added is a brief description of the training available in some of the centres.
